Just realized this morning while packing my bags that running the ICBLBHM this year I get to be part of the beach bum club! Why do I like that better than getting the surf city medal? Maybe it shows where I’m MOST consistent and maybe it shows what I represent the most… Yeah, I like that.
Good morning everyone!! It is currently 5:30am and I ran 20 minutes to start the day! Now for some breakfast and a hot shower then off to work!
This was my trail run today. I completed 6mi in 1 hour 10min and thats including some good size hills. Its been since last year since I’ve been back to the trails. Time to amp it up and do more! I love being out in nature!
1 mile interval training today. My dear friend AlmondsofJoy suggested I do fartleks and I tried it out today on a mile. With an emphasis on relaxed running I changed speed from normal pace to fast every 30 seconds. It felt really good!
:) Well worth it… Awesome run! It was nice going through different roads and pathways it wasn’t boring at all. It did have hills but in general a drop in elevation from beginning to end which did help me with my PR.
I don’t condone not training for running if you are to do long distance events but todays results is a good example of keeping and increasing level of fitness. After Octobers Long Beach Half I missed my chance at the Surf City half and completely went all out on Dragon Boat Racing which does require a level of aerobic exercise and a lot of core. I do still wish I had trained somewhat but these results make me more than happy. A new PR for me!!!
Just a short treadmill run to start breaking in my shoes… It’s been awhile since I’ve been on a treadmil… I’d rather run outside.
Its been since February 28 since I’ve actually run and its good to know I haven’t diminished on my pace time. I did have a couple runs in March but didn’t bother tracking them. I’m trying to put in some mileage before OC half now and this run makes me feel a little more secure. Any fitblrs doing the OC marathon?
It was really cold and it definitely took longer to warm up. By the time I was warm, my legs really didn’t want to take me any farther. I’m beginning to believe that since I walk several hours daily for work already I really cant do long runs during the week like I planned for tonight. I tried recently though but if I were to keep it up on a regular basis, no can do. I will continue to leave long runs for the weekend and maintenance runs only for the week and will switch it off with other activities.
What it took to get me out running on a cold night like tonight?
Ran my favorite running spot today but this time in daylight. I usually run it at night but I since I have the day off I said why not?!
