Where I’m From
I was born and raised an only child and a Southern California boy so my life revolves around diversity, obesity, superficiality, and everything they’ve told you California is all crapped up to be.
How old am I?
Born in ‘84 a great year…you do the math on how old I am.
Quick overview of my life…
In my early years I lived in a multifamily household for the first seven years of my life where I learned how to share EVERYTHING. You don’t get lonely when you live with all your cousins, aunts and uncles! I met my dad when I was seven and it was good while it lasted because at least he taught me how to work hard.
The next part of my life has got to be the hardest part. We moved from place to place for the next 5 years (about 4 more times). Mom n dad fought occasionally with disputes over an illegitimate child and a mistress. While all this was going on my Mom was diagnosed with cancer and was immediately treated with radiation which she suffers from the side effects to this day. Where was I through all this? I was just an only child trying to get by and going to school. So, with mom a surviving cancer patient and dad a struggling filipino male I managed to get through 8 years of private schooling. Then college came along…
My first couple years in college proved to be difficult with a dad that was increasingly becoming abusive… My academics soon suffered and dad became a last straw deal and I had to kick him out for the sake of my mom…
So, to this day I live at home, I work for Southern California Gas Company and I am also a Health/Fitness coach. I also coach Dragon Boat in Long Beach.
What are my future goals?
- Expand a business as a Fitness/Health coach
- Make as many people as healthy as possible and change lives.
What kind of person am I?
I’m a steadfast servant by nature. I’m a kind, generous, compassionate guy who loves life and loves people. I can be a leader when needed and I won’t hesitate to give you my two cents.
Why Health? Why tumblr? Why Fitblr?
I had a scare back in 2007. I was 263lbs the heaviest I ever was. I was getting light headed bending down, sweating, huffing and puffing walking 100 yards, my BP was through the roof and I was at the highest risk for heart attack and stroke. I decided enough was enough! I have a lot of people that count on me in this life including the people I serve in the medical field. It is my responsibility to set an example for my family, my friends and the rest of the world that seems to miss out on living healthy.
Now I am in the best health and fitness I have probably ever been and I am striving to make more progress. Losing weight, staying fit, and living a healthy lifestyle is what I’m all about now. Sharing it with others is just the fruit of my labor.
As far as tumblr goes, it has been a bonus for me because I found the fitblr community! It’s been the place I can connect with people who strive for fitness and health and I’ve been in love with it ever since.
